Inspiring Quotes

Happiness is a state of mind, so the real source of happiness must lie within the mind, not in external conditions. If our mind is pure and peaceful, we shall be happy, regardless of our external conditions.

Dewikoti Buddhist Center

Dewikoti Buddhist Center in Marin is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition (NKT), established by Ven. Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. It is a branch of Mahakaruna Center in Petaluma. It also closely affiliated with sister Centers in Northern California -- Saraha, Dzalandhara and Duldzin Dragpa.

Ven. Geshe Kelsang gave the name "Dewikoti" to the Center, which is the name of a Buddha's Pure Land, a realm beyond suffering that we can attain by purifying and transforming our mind. It is an appropriate name for a Center in beautiful Marin County!
