Meditation Courses in San Francisco 1) Dharma for Depression: Course with Tessa Logan ~ Sunday, March 21
About the Course:
Many people suffer from acute or mild depression, feeling hopeless, and unable to cope with life. Although depression may have physical causes, we can also identify its psychological roots. Buddha taught that the deep causes of such suffering lie within the mind itself.
Through the gentle practices of meditation and mindfulness, we can learn to understand our own mind and gradually overcome the spiritual causes of depression. As the negativity in our mind gradually clears, we can experience inner peace, joy and wisdom. Our relationships improve, our self-confidence increases, and our life becomes even more meaningful. Please see below for schedule and donation information.
2) Living Without Fear: Buddhist Refuge Ceremony and Teachings with Tessa Logan ~ Sunday, April 11
Fear is present in all our lives. However, once we discover why we feel fear, we learn that it is baseless; there is - literally - nothing out there to be afraid of. We start to solve our problems by relying on Buddha as our Spiritual Teacher; on his teachings, the Dharma; and on our community of fellow practitioners, the Sangha. In this way, we establish the basis of a life that is free from all fear.
Refuge Day is an opportunity to receive profound blessings and to begin exploring the richness of the Buddhist way of life. For those who have attended before, it is a chance to receive these blessings again and to renew their commitment to the life they have chosen. Please see below for schedule and donation information.
